This could be a big year for them as they have almost everyone back and added a dynamite transfer in Leigha Brown (have any insiders heard anything about if she'll be immediately eligible? I'm assuming yes, because everyone is getting approved these days).
What are people's thoughts on the likely starting 5?
I would guess that it would be
PG - Dilk (100% will start)
SG - Johnson (100% will start)
SF - L Brown
PF - H Brown
C - Hillmon (the team's potential All-American)
There is one frosh, Cameron Williams, that could challenge H. Brown for the PF spot, but KBA has consistently shown she will almost always favor the veteran over the rookie when it comes to the starting lineup.
Big Ten is really up for grabs this year. Indiana and OSU also return a bunch of starters, but neither was any better than Michigan last year. NW might be the favorite, but they won't sneak up on anyone this year. Maryland is the perennial power, but I don't know what to expect from them after two of their star players transferred out of nowhere, (would've been the equivalent of Livers and Brooks deciding to transfer after last year for the men). Michigan should definitely be in the top 5 in the Big Ten, and with MD in flux, they have a shot to potentially win the Big Ten. Should be a top 20 team overall for sure.
As far as breaking down the team:
Strengths should be: rebounding, scoring around the basket and ability to force turnovers (this is a long team)
Possible weaknesses: 3 point shooting, can anyone run the offense besides Dilk, stopping dribble drive penetration (there were multiple turnstiles on the team last year, hopefully they have improved).
What are other people's thoughts on the team this year? What will make it a successful season in your eyes?
