About time that lucky outfit in E. Lansing got what they deserved

That show definitely looked good in Iowa a couple weeks ago
Massive choke job, I'll admit. But ask Franklin and Dantonio how they enjoyed it.

Speaking of, something just occurred to me. Assuming that PSU and MSU win out (which they should), UM ends up in 4th place in the B1G East, even if you beat OSU (which I highly doubt). I thought ol' Jimmy was the Messiah who would lead UM to the Promised Land. Y'all are going backwards. How the mighty have fallen...

Assuming Michigan wins out (which I doubt as well)......while it gets us no hardware, you can say we're 4th place if you feel better about it, but we would have a share of the division title. Not gonna hang my hat on it because no trip to Indy....but wouldn't shy away from it either.

Having said that...sorry BHB.....take no joy in an O$U win over MSU or the other way if it would have happened other than we needed it to mathematically stay in the race.

OK, honest question, not yanking your chain. How long do you think Harbaugh has to put UM into the B1G title game before the fans get restless? I realize that transitions take time, but I also know that everyone loves a winner. Three years in, and it hasn't happened yet. Two more years? More? Less?

Who the hell cares what I think, but I say if we dont win the B10 Championship by 2019, you have to ask yourself why are we waiting more than half a decade to compete for this and why are we paying more than our rival schools do for Dantonio or Meyer results? I've been following Michigan Football for 12 years and I feel that Harbaugh has already brought us back to where we were when I started following the Wolverines. That is already something to be quite happy about considering the crap we went through with Rodriguez and Hoke. That said, when Harbaugh was hired I didnt think: "Oh nice we are going to go back to the 2-4 loss seasons again." I thought to myself "National Championship!" I know, it took Dabo eight seasons to do it, but with the amount of cash we are putting into the team you should have the best coaches out there and while I feel we are already set there in most cases, there are some positions (OL, RB for example) where I'm still scratching my head. To clarify, I dont think Coach Harbaugh should be anywhere close to fired like other fans do. I just think that after year five and no results you would have to sit down with him and change things up, starting with some of the coaches on his staff. Like I said though, thats just how I feel and who the hell cares what I think.

Well there you Ky.....the following poster answered your question. Fans are ALREADY restless. Now are they realistic? Don't know. I say no, but my opinion is my opinion....I'm not saying its necessarily the correct one.

IMO last season was the disappointment. The door was open for us. You guys were young & we dominated you for 3/4 of that game before coming up a bit short. Was the Speight injury the reason we didn't get to Indy? He kinda gifted you 14 points so Maybe. But I know in the end.........scoreboard.

Kinda onboard with GBFOSU....Need it badly by the end of 2019 season. But all that aside, I'm not gonna dump Harbaugh, but yeah, maybe more adjustments will need to be made.

Still question if in this era of CF the pro style can take you to the top unless you have a 5* STUD quarterback with a top notch OL.

Harbaugh is safe for a long time for two reasons. One being he is following the two worst coaches in the history of our university. The other is who would we get. He just need a break through victory like belein got against msu in a game no one thought we'd be in on the road.

It's hard to do in the college game. Woody Hayes used to say that when you throw the ball, 3 things can happen, and 2 of them are bad (ie. interception or incompletion). In a pro-style offense, the QB isn't going to be a run threat, for all intents and purposes. Even if he's a 5* stud, in order for him to be effective, his receivers have to be able to get open and catch the ball. Thus the defense can pick and choose how to defend the pass vs. the run game. With a DT QB, you add the element of uncertainty into what the QB is going to do on a given play. Is he going to hand it off, run it himself, or throw? It stresses the defense and makes it harder for them to cover all the bases.

Can it be effective? Sure. But it's harder to do.

Hate to say it but tend to agree with you. On another thread I contended that on last years team Devin Gardner could have QB'd that Michigan team into Indy with his dual threat capabilities.

Last years team might be the most talented team in this decade. There were double digit pros on that team and most were four year players. That might have been the best chance to get to Indy before 2020. MSU was younger and OSU tends to reload every year. Penn State is not going away, but I question Franklin and his ability in the long run. One or two more years as a third and/or fourth place finish will not sit well with the fan base. It will be difficult next year with three of the four games against top teams will be on the road. ND, MSU and OSU are all on the road with PSU at home. This is not an ideal schedule to help improve this years fourth place in the East Division.

But you have to look at the talent distribution of that team... Most of it was the D. The OL couldn't run block. Speight was the QB and Deveon Smith was the RB. Guys that's not good enough. Yes we should have beat Iowa and at least played in the playoff only to get run by Bama or Clemson. Best case we hold on to beat OSU and win the B1G but it didn't happen.

If Peters is playing well enough by the start of next season there's absolutely no reason we can't go to ND and MSU and win. OSU will be breaking in a new QB as well. Next year we have to take a step and if the OL and QB are better it shoud happen.

On paper the schedule situation is not favorable, but in todays game big time programs are going on the road & winning big games all the time. Conversely, big time programs are getting beat at home. Ole Miss has beaten Bama 2 of the last 4 trips to Tuscaloosa. Moo U has been down to C-Bus & dumped them/played them tough last few trips down there. Hell, we SHOULD have beaten the Bucknuts last season at the shoe. Sparty's last 2 trips in AA have resulted in W's for them. Clemson lost last season to Pitt...should have lost to NC State & Louisville all at home.
So in the end.....sack up....don't whine about the schedule....just go play em one at a time. Road teams DO get W's if they've got their shit together!

U of M is 1-19 against favored teams in its last 20 games against a favored opponent. It does not bode well with next years schedule home or away unless there is a major change in the way they play. They have not beaten a ranked opponent on the road since 2006 and I expect MSU, PSU, and OSU to be ranked next year when they play. The uncertainly at QB and OL are major concerns for me against ranked teams. The lack of major improvement in the RB position this year is also a concern for me. Maybe the change in RB coach could be a factor. I expected Evans to have a much better year and the lack of production against top tier teams 2.8 yards per carry in the three losses is concerning. I expect the receivers to be better next year, but who will get them the ball on a consistent basis? There had better be an excellent off season and maybe eating gelato in Italy is not the best way to train for an upcoming season.

Penn State beat the living tar out of UM.. we are stacked at QB and our recruiting is VERY strong. PSU is still sanction riddled, you question Franklin who has quite frankly out coached both Meyer and Harbaugh.. once PSU DL is back to standards and they routinely pressure with four.. they won't be going anywhere. Far more outside of your glass house question Harbaugh than Franklin. God forbid you try to win with Speight.. I can't believe your answer to the BIG EAST is Anthony Morelli LOL.
