Where do I go to discuss Softball?

You mean their gigantic new facility on the lakefront on the main campus? Yep. It also blocks out the sky and the Lake for everyone else. Sort of funny because if you come in on the main drive into the campus from the north end, you look to the west and see a bunch of dorms and frat houses...

Where do I go to discuss Softball?

Hah, STP GopherFan, I knew you would be heard from. I resisted the urge to go looking for you when Michigan won both the BIG regular season and tournament titles. But, good work by the Gophs. Let's see, they have now been to the WCWS . . . uh . . .once. Watching their LSU games on television...

Josh Norris out for the season....

Two years in a row. I know I'm in the vast minority on this, but I just hate that we (have to) send players to World Juniors n the middle of our season. The only justification I can see (and accept) for it is that if we are going to recruit players from the US NTDP, which exists to identify...

    Scott Matzka....

Yes, sad indeed. Only 40 years old and two young children. Well from what I have read eh put up a great fight against this disease. Scott was a solid, 2-way, 4-year player for Red, stepped into the starting lineup as a freshman and stayed there. But, Alphadriver, if you are referring to the...

Who are you people what the hell happened to my friends?*

Was that recording made at TCF Bank Stadium in the 4th quarter of the game against Nebraska?

After 2 weeks of the season with one real game...

Well, lose a game (Saturday) that we led after 2 periods - that's a negative checkmark. We have enough veterans (including 5 on D) that losing leads in the 3P is not something I expect.

    Not a great start....

No kidding not a good start. Lose at home to a team that likely will be in the bottom 30 of the Pairwise this year. Our inability to actually score (despite all the shots and pressure) illustrates one of my biggest fears about this team, which is that we will really miss Cooper Marody and his...

    1995

    Another observation about the incoming (2018) 10-member class - only 2 18 year old freshmen (Randl and Lambert); 2 19-year olds, 3 20-year olds, 3 21-year olds.

    1995

If Brady is talking about the class entering in 1995, they won titles in their freshman and junior years. Hayes, Ritchlin, Berenszweig, Rominski (sic), Crozier, Justin Clark and Daddario.

    Hockey team departures...

Maybe James Sanchez left of his own accord as he guessed he would only be a sometimes player, but I am looking at the freshman class and wondering if Van Wyhe and Olmstead are improvements over Sanchez at forward

    Incoming frosh

Wilde and Samuelsson (and Jack Hughes :) ) would have been the elite players in this class. However - Lambert, Moyle and Olmstead have scored in juniors, although this may be in part due to them being 19-20 in juniors plus Lambert played in the BCHL and Olmstead in the NAHL which are regarded as...

Red is to be inducted into the US Hockey Hall of Fame

Yes it is. Good for him, as Red himself would say.

    Hockey team departures...

Oh, man, James Sanchez was my favorite player (seriously). I don't think Merl was really on the team last year.

Jack Hughes, on the other hand...

This is not a surprise, is it?

    Some Stuff from Mgoblue.com

    1. They had a item reporting that 17 Wolverines have been invited to NHL development camps this summer, and included a list of the 17, and one of them was Jimmy Lambert. So I guess we should definitely consider him to be incoming. 2. They also had an item that former football player John...

    New goalie commit

Hmm, 6'-5" and reasonably good stats in the NAHL the last 2 seasons. This gives us 4 goalies for next season assuming Strauss Mann arrives If not, Mr. Leavy is our #2.

    Quinn Hughes Drafted #7

Well - unfortunately for our roster - there is plenty of opportunity to get right into the lineup for the woeful Canucks (who are already worse than they were last season due to retirement of the Sedins). And FWIW (not much) - Samuelsson (sic?) and Wilde were drafted very early in the second round.

    LaFontaine departs

Well, coming back to college hockey perhaps, but unless he is deeply enamoured of completing his Michigan degree (a very worthwhile goal, of course), why would he come back to Michigan? - in 2019-20 he would presumably be faced with competing with - LaVigne and Mann- just like 2018-19..

    LaFontaine departs
