I mean literally, there’s nothing stopping any subscriber (or group of subscribers) on this site from offering NIL money.
I say this because I see a fair amount of criticism that UM-interest NIL parties aren’t willing to “play the game” of upfront recruiting guarantees and other impermissible benefits (in fact, illegal in some states *not* including MI). For example, I can tell you with absolute certainty that the large ($100mm+) UM donor collective folks have been talking about is unwilling to cross that line.
So if you want to cross that line, I encourage you to put your money where your mouth is and help UM land some recruits. No one I’m aware of who is doing or planning UM-related NIL is going to be doing it. Seems like there’s an opportunity here for those of you who want to go the impermissible route.
EDIT: Revised to reflect recruiting inducements are not permissible by the NCAA but are not explicitly called out in MI’s NIL enabling legislation.
