Slightly OT: Cheating and college baseball -- question for anyone who knows about recruiting etc. & D1 baseball

So I don't know anything about college baseball. My hypothesis is that since there's a minor league system -- and because it's not a big revenue sport -- that most of the guys who play college baseball are interested in an education (at least somewhat) and there's less academic fraud that goes on. Probably less pay-for-play, even at the southern schools that historically dominate the sport (and also have a more pliable ethical outlook).

Is this how it plays out in real life or is that simply mistaken? I'll hang up and listen; thanks.
