NHL Central Scouting released their Players to Watch today for the 2020 NHL Draft to be held in Montreal in June.

Any player listed, no matter what rating, potentially stands to be a quality performer at the NCAA level. Ratings are based on projected professional potential and draft round predictability.

Seven Michigan class of 2020 commits were listed in the ratings:

B Ranking (expected to be selected in the 2nd/3rd round)

Thomas Bordeleau US NTDP C 5-9 179

C Ranking (expected to be drafted in the 4th thru 6th round)

Brendan Brisson Chicago (USHL) C 5-11 177
Ethan Edwards Spruce Grove (AJHL) D 5-9 164
Mark Estapa Tri-City (USHL) LW 6-1 181
Patrick Guzzo Waterloo (USHL) C 6-2 198
Ethan Szmagaj Waterloo (USHL) D 5-9 194
Jacob Truscott US NTDP D 6-0 172

Michigan will be graduating nine players and could lose others to early pro signings. The seven above are expected to be in the class of 2020 for Michigan in addition to forwards Philippe Lapointe (Trail - BCHL) and Josh Groll (Lincoln - USHL), and goaltender Erik Portillo (Dubuque - USHL)

There are a handful of top-flight players not eligible (too young) for the 2020 draft who could be included in the Michigan 2020 class, depending on the academic year they occupy and the number of openings in the class.
