A good friend of M&BR was at Toviano’s first game of the season yesterday down at the old Texas Rangers ballpark. He was able to talk to the five-star afterwards and asked about Michigan.

Toviano mentioned that the Wolverines are “high for sure” and really enjoyed his official visit back in June, calling it a unique experience.

The expectation is that Toviano will be back in Ann Arbor this fall in order to check out a packed Big House. He has four remaining official visits with Ohio State, LSU, Oregon, A&M, Texas, and others aggressively pushing for one of them.

Michigan was trying to get Toviano up to the barbecue last month but opted out for traveling to Baton Rouge instead. I wouldn’t put too much thought into that because his interest has yet to waver.

This is a Steve Clinkscale movement as he look to pry the Rivals100 secondary talent out of the Lone Star state. This is a legit possibility as Toviano has shown that he’s willing to leave.

Michigan got help this summer with recruiting Toviano through two verbal commits in Amir Herring and Collins Acheampong down at IMG Academy for the Under Armour Future 50 camp. The rest of the class recognizes how major of an acquisition Toviano would be and each should go out of their way to make a pitch.

If Toviano is able to attend one of the marquee games on the schedule like Hawaii, Penn State, or Michigan State, that’d be huge considering the amount of commits who are expected to attend as well. Clinkscale is an excellent recruiter but it’s doesn’t hurt to have more voices, especially fellow players, assisting in the effort.
