Did some more asking around this evening about the direction the DL coach search is headed and, right now, it appears that conversations between one candidate in particular and Sherrone Moore are picking up steam.
We have been told that Wisconsin DL coach Greg Scruggs and Moore have spoken about the job and progress has been made in that regard.
We’re told that Moore has offered a significant raise to Scruggs and that he is open to discussions. Still some moving parts happening. I think part of it is to get a DC hire nailed down first.
The overall message: “I need you at Michigan.”
Scruggs would be a BIG win for Moore and would be an excellent recruiter. We’re told that Scruggs and Moore were good friends during their days together at Louisville so there’s a connection there.
