Owen Power should become the third NCAA player to go #1 in the draft and the 4th #1 to play college hockey (Erik Johnson played his draft year with the NTDP before joining the Gophers).
Power and Beniers could be the first NCAA teammates to go 1-2, in becoming the 9th and 10th top 2 picks to play college hockey. This would also be the second time NCAA players went 1-2.
Michigan should be the first NCAA program to have three current players go in the first round. They should all go in the first 9 picks. We also could have 4 players/recruits go in the top ten, which I have to imagine would also be a record.
It could be the first time that 5 NCAA hockey players/recruits go in the top ten. 4 of them are Wolverines.
If Samoskevich or Duke goes in the first round as well (likely Samoskevich) we'd also be the first NCAA team to have 5 players/recruits go in the first round.
And the Wings have 2 first rounders, picking 6 and 23 (technically 22 with Arizona forfeiting their selection).
