I've been lucky enough to see quite a few of these games in person. Growing up in East Lansing I went to almost many games at Spartan Stadium as I did in Ann Arbor.
I have a few great memories, but my all time favorite was my first one in 1989. I was 9 years old and my parents took me to the game in East Lansing. I was decked out in Maize and Blue and got more than a few sneers than a child should from the MSU fans. We ended up sitting behind two Michigan students who talked to me the whole game and I think were impressed by football knowledge. For a 9 year old I felt like the coolest kid in the stadium. And then I boldly predicted a blocked field goal by Michigan. Given the how often Vada Murray and Tripp Welborne did it that season, it wasn't that actually that bold of a prediction, but my prediction paid off. I distinctly remember the college kids in front of me mobbing me after that happened. Michigan also had a 4th down stop in that game and Lance Dottin sealed the 10-7 victory with a late interception.
