I read a couple of remarks from guys (or gals, sorry) that complained about a stadium being a "dump". Saying that, how do you make a statement like that when you go to a stadium/facility like Fenway Park or Wrigley Field? I'm not implying at all that those are "dumps" BTW, I've attended a couple of games at Wrigley and know a few people that have gone to Red Sox games, just to see a game at Fenway.

I've taken tours of Petco Field in San Diego and Wrigley Field, it's amazing the difference, of course. Petco was built quite recently whereas Wrigley has been around forever. The home locker rooms were very nice, etc. The visiting dugout (area under the stands) at Wrigley was a total joke. Now that's regarding the players but how about you the fan...I can't tell you what team has the most recent stadium built but comparing a old-time historical field to something built "yesterday" ... I've been to approximately 90 different college stadiums in the last 20 years, not attending games but just to visit. Grown up loving CFB and to step onto the grass/fake grass at Kyle Field, Tiger Stadium (LSU), Stanford, Colorado, UNC, N'western, PSU, U of Montana and Michigan. To be in a facility where Bear Bryant coached, John Cappeletti, Tom Harmon, Gary Beban played, Billy Cannon's punt return, Ol' Miss and Archie Manning, Warren Moon...it doesn't get much better. I've seen games at some of these places but I don't ever want to refer to these places as being dumps. The "arms race" has changed many of these places but the memories can never fade away. Every place has their niche so to speak, I'm so glad that I've taken the time and have been fortunate to see the many "shrines".
