Big BIG Big time dual tonight against the Buckeyes of ol' Ohio State. Follow along here for live updates of each period for each match of the entire dual. I'll be adding main updates to this main post, and add some post-dual thoughts in the comments below!
125: #1 Nick Suriano 11-3 MAJ DEC over #14 Malik Heinselman
1st Period:
Great mat presence from Suriano, lots of pressure to the edge of the mat against Heinselman. A naaaaasty ankle pick gets a takedown for Suriano to go up 2-0 midway through the first. Optional start, cutting Heinselman, but then does a mat return. Haven’t seen that before. Heinselman is cut, 2-1. Single to double leg for another 2 with 30 seconds left. Tilt attempt doesn’t yield any back points. Riding time over a minute, 4-1 into the second.
2nd Period:
Suriano starts bottom, escapes within 7 seconds. 5-1. Blood time, and the poor lady absolutely eats it on her way to clean up the mat. Ouch. Single leg Suriano, able to circle behind for a takedown. 7-1. Riding tough to increase his riding time over 2 minutes to end the period up 7-1.
3rd Period:
Heinselman starts bottom this time, rides for 30ish thus far, should cut him soon to chase bonus. 1pt escape here Heinselman. Bull rushes his way to another takedown, then cuts for a quick escape. 30 seconds, needs 1 more take down for bonus. Gets another stall call, gives a point for Suriano to make it 10-3.

UM 4 - 0 OSU
133: #8 Dylan Ragusin 14-5 MAJ DEC over NR Will Betancourt
1st Period:
Spin around for a take down Ragusin. Attempt roll through that Ragusin follows nicely. Looking to run a half over, close to getting it but not quite. Over a minute riding time. Ragusin cuts him, 2-1. Double underhook to another take down. Cuts again. Spin around, 6-2 at this point and puts in a wing. Takes it to the second up 6-2.
2nd Period:
Ragusin starts bottom. Quick escape makes it 7-2. Shrug by gets another easy take down. Escape Betancourt makes it 9-3. Ragusin almost throws a front headlock. Seems like it'll happen soon. Spin around for takedown Ragusin. 11-3, riding time over 3 minutes now. Rides out the period. Ends 11-3.
3rd Period:
Ragusin cuts him. 11-4. Double unders, penalty point for locked hands. 11-5. Couple attempts for throws, not getting there. Crazy there hasn't been a stalling against Betancourt at this point. Spin behind for Ragusin with a minute left. 13-5, riding time locked makes bonus a guarantee at this point. Dude's doing nothing on bottom. Rides out the period, 13-5

141: #9 Stevan Micic 12-7 DEC over #23 Dylan D’Emilio
1st Period:
Redemption time after a tough match last time around. Single leg spin around, gets 2 for Micic. Cuts D'Emilio, 2-1. Shuck to single almost gets 2 for Micic, but a shin whizzer delays it a bit. Nice pressure to get another takedown from Micic, though. Well-done. Escape makes it 4-2. End of period at 4-2 neutral.
2nd Period:
Micic quick escape from bottom makes it 5-2. Double turns to single, finishes for another 2. Riding time approaching a minute. Escape D'Emilio with about 30 seconds to go. Riding time right at a minute. Ends the period 7-3.
3rd Period:
D'Emilio starts bottom. Earns an escape. High crotch trip gets another 2 for Micic. Looking for back points, but coach wants him to cut him. Optional start, 1 pt escape. Single leg attempt D'Emilio, and finishes on Micic to make it 9-7. Reversal for Micic, but only makes it 11-7 to end the period.
+1 riding time, 12-7 win for Micic.

149: NR Cole Mattin 4-9 DEC to #2 Sammy Sasso
1st Period:
Scramble situation, single leg for Mattin, finishes for the takedown. Quick stalemate call. Escape Sasso makes it 2-1. Single leg Sasso, another scramble scenario. Spin and take down for Sasso to go up 3-2 over Mattin. Escape Mattin ties it 3-3. Double leg Sasso, another scramble, takedown Sasso and reversal Mattin makes it 5-5 at the end of a WILD period. Refs taking another look at it. WHAT? No takedown, 10 seconds on clock with 3-3 instead? No idea wtf that is. That seems like Mattin should've gotten the take down if anything. Whatever. Period ends 3-3
2nd Period:
Reversal after stall against Mattin, makes it 5-3 Sasso. Escape Mattin makes it 5-4 Sasso. Single leg Mattin, spread out well, another scramble situation. Spin behind Sasso, 7-4 advantage. 30 seconds left in the period. Time runs out as Sasso looks for back points with bow and arrow. 7-4 end of second.
3rd Period:
Mattin starts bottom. Sasso going for a wing. Riding time over 2 minutes. Stalling green gets Sasso another point. 8-4. Mattin working hard, great fight from him. here.

UM 11 - 3 OSU
157: #14 Will Lewan 6-3 DEC over NR Jashon Hubbard
1st Period:
Single leg Hubbard, step over and finishes for a takedown. Quick escape Lewan makes it 2-1. Single leg shot from Lewan, spins around and finishes. 3-2 late in period. No points in a scramble situation, might be going to the monitor for this one. Yep, OSU challenges. Seems like it might be an escape for OSU, but hard to say. Challenge fails, big ride out for Lewan. 3-2.
2nd Period:
Lewan starts bottom, earns an escape in 15ish seconds. Lewan needs to move here, neither guy really shooting. Slide-by attempt for Hubbard, almost turns into a single for Lewan, no points though. Brick from Michigan with a close takedown from Lewan at the edge. No points. Period ends. 4-2
3rd Period:
Hubbards starts down, earns quick escape. Riding time not a factor in this one. 4-3lead Lewan. Re-shot for Hubbard, Lewan somehow gets out, but stall called. Shot Hubbard, Lewan looking to spin, back neutral. 1 minute to go. Lewan a few half shots. 20 seconds, spin for Lewan will seal it for a final takedown. 6-3 final.

165: NR Pat Nolan 6-21 TECH FALL to #5 Carson Kharchla
1st Period:
Single leg Kharchla, quick takedown and cut makes it 2-1 OSU. Single leg attempt Nolan, spin behind for Kharchla makes it 4-1. Another cut, 4-2. Third takedown makes it 6-2. Going for a turn on the edge, but goes out of bounds. Another cut. 6-3. 1 minute to go. Another takedown Kharchla, 8-3. Half turns Nolan. 12-3. End of period.
2nd Period:
Nolan starts down. Escape, but 2 minutes riding time Kharchla. 12-4 lead OSU. Warning green stalling. Another takedown Kharchla. Hard ride out at 14-4.
3rd Period:
Nolan starts top. Quick escape Kharchla. 15-4. 2 more for Kharchla. Cut makes it 17-5. 1 minute to go. Another takedown for Kharchla. Cuts, makes it 19-6. Another takedown and there's the tech-fall. 21-6.

1st Period:
Couple half shots, feeling each other out thus far. Couple shots Massa, a late stall call against Smith. Massa drives a double leg out of bounds. Period ends 0-0
2nd Period:
Massa starts top, reversal attempt Smith, reversal confirmed. 2-0 Smith over Massa. Escape Massa. 2-1. Shot Massa, scramble that Smith gets behind Massa on. 4-2 after escape. End of period.
3rd Period:
Massa bottom, gets quick escape. 4-3. Single leg for Massa, gets a single leg and finishes it. 5-4. Riding time not a factor. Chicken wing Massa, looking for back points. Getting swipes!!! 4 near fall confirmed. Getting the crowd going haha. 9-4 final

Escape Amine with a standing granby. Wild. 1-0 lead. Midway through the second still. Some shots but nothing materializing. Period ends 1-0.
3rd Period:
Romero starts bottom. Escapes to make it 1-1. Riding time not a factor. Some shots from Romero here, minute left. 1-1, we go to OT.
SV:
What a scramble, no points, but initial shot, re-shot, roll through and we're neutral. Ankle pick Romero, Amine gets out of it, we're neutral again. SCRAMBLE, AMINE GETS BEHIND, guts out the win, 3-1.What a match.

2nd Period:
Brucki starts bottom. Brucki escapes after 20ish seconds, 3-1. Stalling red after a few shots from Brucki. Outside single shot Brucki, turns to a double and secures 2 at the end of the period. 5-1
3rd Period:
Hoffman starts down. Escape after 20ish seconds again. Riding time not likely a factor. 5-2. 30 seconds remaining. Reshot for Brucki, scramble situation finishes the match. 5-2 is your final.
