On MSU's screen TD, I'm still trying to figure out why Brown would blitz with MSU in 2nd and long and the main objective being to keep them out of the endzone. Wouldn't that be a case where you simply keep the ball in front of the D? Instead he blitzes Ross, taking him out of what should have been a fairly predictable play. This is especially baffling considering that hadn't gotten to Lombardi all day. So why gamble when holding them to a FG keeps UM in position to win?
I understand the criticism of Gattis. He didn't call a great game and as everyone else has said, the wildcat sequence was a head scratcher, but at least in that case, there was a play there to be made.
On the flipside, at the key moment, Brown called a blitz that effectively took away any chance for UM to make a play and did so for no discernable reason.
