Will Harbaugh's recruits pan out as much as Hoke's have? If not, going to be a tough year...

of course some others, special team guys, some returning guys. I don't even include all 5 starting O.Lineman who are Hoke's as the jury is still out on them or they are nothing to brag about.

Well seeing what JH was able to do with these guys in his first year, im pretty confident in whats to come with JH's recruits. The best players will play. This is a meritocracy. Lol.

I think UM will be okay next year but not nearly as deep because UM will add some pretty solid young talent next year.

Next year will be a slight step back but something tells me in 2018 we should really be rocking and rolling because UM will have a solid 2 big classes who have been in the program for 2 years along with a few guys in the frosh class that will be able to contribute.

The skill players will be able to offset some of the losses.

Don't forget the reason why hoke's recruits are paying off is because of the current coaching staff's ability to get the best out of them. Harbaugh will have no problem replacing this year's departures.

I think JH will be fine - next year could end up being an 8-4 type season for us potentially. We have talent but unfortunately not a lot of depth after this year. Let's look at it by positions:
  • QB - Speight, McCaffery, Peters, Morris, O'Korn - we will be more then fine here
  • RB - Ty, Higdon, Evans, Johnson, Davids, Walker, and a slew of others - think we will be fine there as well. Isaac need to learn how to block and we should be ok.
  • TE - Asiasi, Bunting, Wheatley, Eubanks - also should be fine there
  • WR - Ways, Harris, Perry, Crawford, McDoom and hopefully some good recruits - this will be the biggest weakness in our offense next year. Hoke sucked at recruiting WRs
  • OL - Cole, Kugler, Bradeson, JBB and a few really good recruits - we will be fine here
I think on offense, we might actually improve if anything. The only bit that concerns me about our offense is I don't see any scenario in which Trevno stays at Michigan. I think some NFL team will come calling given his style of offensive play calling.

Defense is where we will see the biggest hit with the departures. Obviously with McCray, Gary, Mone, Kemp, Jones, Hudson, Bush, Winovich, Ron Johnson, Long, Hill (younger brother), Kinnel, Dwumfour, Onwenu, Bosse, and Furbush we have some talented guys returning. I think we will lack some depth here and have quite a bit of youth. However, the good news is that a lot of these players are getting PT right now. Gary, Mone, McCray, and Winovich should anchor a pretty strong defense for us.

We'll just have to score a lot of points next year especially if McDoom and Crawford can become deep threats with their speed :) And I imagine there will probably be 2-3 true freshmen that play well - ala Gary & Evans.

Look at the young contributors so far that Harbaugh brought in (Perry, Braden, Gary, Evans, Asiasi-just off the top of my head) who will easily be starters next year. Combine that with players that have seriously picked up their game under his coaching (McCray, Hill, Speight, etc.) there's little doubt he is a developer of talent. Hoke did a great job of bringing in raw material, but make no doubt that most of the gains we've seen are a product of this staff's manufacturing acumen.

Expecting a Grad Transfer All-Star team to arrive in Ann Arbor next season. Plus lets throw in a couple JUCO All American players to boot. SEC be damned, Natty here we come!!!

Agree - the one area where we likely see little dropoff has to be the O-line. I think new recruits will probably help more then the current Hoke guys who have some very bad habits.

Grad transfers do not equal JUCOs...

D.J., Jokingly saying that we're gonna get 3 or 4 great Grad transfers & what the hell, let's go add a couple of the top JUCO's too like the SEC does so next years squad is not void of talent in key positions. Of course I KNOW this isn't gonna happen.

But will be happy to see our own recruits blossom of course!
