Been a strange week
The good news is the team hasn't turned on itself or pointed fingers
As I have pointed all week to my Sparty friends - when you are plus 5 in To's and the other team stills has a chance at the end....perhaps it says more about how bad you are rather then how you beat Michigan....they cant argue that...
Wont get into any words out of practice to avoid a meltdown
This game (and next week) will be about two things:
1 - Can Coach develop a Offensive game plan that addresses the players strengths and capabilities - this will require a more firm approach by Jim over is three coordinators and stopping trying to be "too smart" in playcalling
Regardless of what Jim says about play calling being "an easy target"- he too knows it was not smart to throw the type passes they did in a monsoon, that the O line has RT issues and JOK didn't see the field well (locked on one guy) in this game - this has been worked on
2 - Is this team mentally tough? Need to man up for a better then normal IU team and set stage for PSU in a week.
It was at times like this that Hoke era teams folded. Will be interesting to see if JJH can get the young men to "raise to the occasion"
What is of concern to me...that our ultra competitive coach hasn't seemed to get the fire into the team when playing MSU and some others - they wanted it more and had a better game plan for the weather (that is was foul weather was no surprise to Michigan - heck weather updates were posted all week on here)
Will this team reply this week like a Bo team or a Hoke team....we will soon see
I still like this team and all their goals can be attained - this D can keep us in all games...question --- can the Offense win them?
But damn they need to stop the mistakes and be put in positions to be successful -- that is on our coach to figure out
Carpe Diem should be his words to the team
