Pretty sure Bo didn't play at Michigan, so Harbaugh wins that matchup easily. Also, Ryan was an OLB, not a DE.

I should have clarified...coach contest

I do remember Ryan shifting to ilb but do remember him playing with hand down most of the time when he was a great player...I guess olb/rush end...basically a DE. Let me see if I can get some videos of him.

Nobody would argue that he wasn't our best pass rusher, but he played OLB. Then they stupidly moved him inside his last year.

I was wrong.

I would still take Ryan over Peppers as a defensive player. Clearly Peppers is an all around dynamo. Just keep him out of pass coverage .

And Ryan was great in pass coverage? Was Ryan ever a candidate for the Heisman ? Peppers is projected to be #5 in the NFL draft right now, where did Ryan come out at? Ryan was and is a "great" player...but a Woodson or Peppers only comes around on a team every 10-20 years. We have a Ryan type level player every year...should we name them all?

Peppers (more versatile), Lewis (shut-down corner over sometime pass rushing stud), Molk (No knock on Butt, but we've had many great pass catching TE's, plus Molk's intensity/leadership can't be denied), Hemingway (by a nose). Way too early to make a Bo/Harbs call.
