You have to throw Swinney in the mix with the guys you've mentioned. Brian Kelly before Stoops. As we sit here today I'd say Jim McElwain, But you have to wait until end of regular season at least. Tough call though. No slam dunk!
 
Sorry guys, this one won't even be close - it's Ferentz without a doubt - that gap between him and #2 is very large. He has a class that is never Top 25 in recruiting, his teams have sucked, they will likely be 12-0 before they potentially lose to MSU, etc. Harbaugh won't even be in the Top 5 of the voting despite how amazing a job he has done.
 
If Ferentz's Hawkeyes win the B1G I think he gets it....and they will be in the playoff. If MSU gets to the playoffs, I think Dantonio might be the favorite.

Harbaugh definitely has done a great job, but without some sort of title I think any coach has a hard time being the COY.
