NONE of you have the slightest clue about how the recruiting process works because you do not have experience with it other than blogging on here while at your day jobs or simply do not work.

#1-Jim Harbaugh has done NOTHING wrong and has done NO different from what is done at EVERY major football school including MSU and yes Northwestern
#2- Yes, recruiting is very dirty and it is also a business as you have to recruit a kid who can play AND academically finish his degree because the school is INVESTING in them.
#3- Read this-16,17,18 year old kids comitt and decomitt all of the time. They have lots of people pulling at them
#4-All schools except verbal comittments early but the players are told to consider everyone who is interested, take all visits and they know that schools are also shopping for other players as well. Find the right environment and if the school you committed to early does not keep up contact then focus elsewhere.
#5-The Swenson saga is Bullshit and there is Michigan's side which has yet to be told. If he refused to come work out for then I would have also rescinded my offer to him. He is not good enough for them at UM period and had plenty of chances to visit other schools.
#6-All you high and mighty Michigan fans bitching on here!! Read this. I have been on this board for a long time and I have listened to your bitching about Carr,Rr, Hoke and how they could not compete with the big boys because of this and that. YOU CAN'T HAVE YOUR CAKE AND EAT IT TOO!!!! Harbaugh is one of the top 3 coaches in the game and he understands what it takes to be able to beat teams like Bama, and OSU. He has got to get the players that can beat them and finish a degree at UM. Either you want to celebrate a National Championship one day or continue bitching about some bullshit moral code of ethics that you think exists at UM which is hilarious.

Finally a Michigan fan that allowed his balls to drop out of his body cavity and swing in the free air of reality, the whiners here will be waiving pom poms on State St when Jim brings home a championship.

Totally agree. The ones complaining the most will be jim's number 1 fan when Michigan is in playoffs. All I remember is 14 months ago UM being the joke of college football...

You were more reasonable and thoughtful when you wrote in the third person, this first person RM seems to like to jump off of cliffs holding hands with Maelfan...

Reality: The here, the now, the facts and the truth=Harbaugh recruiting style and everyone else
I'm sure Harbaugh's tactics while unsavory to some, are probably played out in schools across the land in some form or fashion.

Here's the bottom line: This is what he does. This is how he recruits. If fans are repulsed by it ...there's the door. I'm sure ND, MSU and OSU's bandwagons have room for more fans.

There are others with opposing views. I am all for winning and getting more talent but a well known blogger just said (paraphrasing)...pick up the damn phone and call these guys earlier and tell them to make other arrangements.

UM is using some 'lesser' prospects as a one way insurance policy. Even ESPN/writer wrote an article about the UM recruiting perception problem.

Bottom line is UM is going to get a lot of negative publicity. If you are okay with people in the media looking at UM as the evil empire...then by all means keep doing it.

I am trying to support a program who wants to win but not throw some people under the bus without a good reason.

Here is an example of perfectly acceptable coaching decisions. Player 'A' is not cutting the mustard and is told that he is hurting the program and needs to transfer. He is going to be a 3rd stringer or a regular backup. He has had 3 years to prove himself and he belongs at a lower school.

I don't have a problem with that because the scholarship is conditional on playing at a high level. Playing for Harbaugh is not easy and as long as kids understand the expectations are really high then fine.

NOT communicating certain variables is not okay and that's why many of us are having a problem. Doesn't make us less of a fan but a fan who wants better communication like the famous blogger and many many others.

Michnittlion is someone I respect. WE aren't trying to take a shot at UM or hurt UM but trying to make UM football better...not worse.

You are sorely mistaken if you think Michigan's rivals had warm and fuzzy feelings about the school prior to Harbaugh's arrival. Nobody felt sorry for Michigan when they were going through losing seasons. The fact that some Michigan fans had an inflated sense of the righteousness of the program had, well, no bearing on anything really. It didn't help Michigan win, that's for sure.

I can tell you one thing, telling OSU fans how much "better" our program is, while losing to them every year, just makes them laugh.
