Here's my take on this. If Ruddock wins the starting QB nod, I would not be surprised if Morris is gone sometime in the next few weeks but given that we are now in the middle of August the odds of that are slim and nothing saying that both QB don't get tons of playing time this year.
I do think Malzone is gone after this season - he does not fit the size mold that JH generally cares for. If you look at 2016 we will have the following QBs on staff:
Gentry - 4-star
Speight - 3-star
Malzone - 4-star
Morris - 4/5-star if he does not transfer
O'Korn
Viramontes - 3-star
That's a lot of skilled QBs all staying to be able to vie for one opening. Viramontes will likely RS next year and if Morris stays it will be between him and O'Korn as to who starts but I just don't see why Malzone & Speight both stick around because they will almost be guaranteed to get virtually no playing time at all. Malzone is the youngest of the bunch and can go to a decent school and end up starting for a couple years easily.
BTW, on a good note - unlike what Hoke had - most coaches around the world (except OSU who have 3 really good QBs for their system) would love to have the type of depth Michigan now has at QB moving forward.
A observation from a far on Michigan's QB's. Harbaugh is facing a reality of having to use 3 different QB starters in his first 3 seasons at Michigan, this is not good. Gentry is your future. Harbaugh needs to red-shirt Gentry and develop him. Gentry comes back next year as a red-shirt freshmen with only Morris, O'Korn, Malzone in his way and could be a 4-year starter for Michigan giving stability. Moving Gentry to TE this season I think is a big mistake. He may add athletic ability to the position, but what is he going to do catch 7 passes this season? It would be a complete wasted year. Now he comes back next year as a true sophomore with only 3 years left and no QB experience. He would have almost no chance to become a good college QB before his eligibility is used up. Now if Michigan finds a new QB and Gentry becomes a all-bigten TE then I guess it will work out.
Malzone will probably leave. But Speight should be the one moving to TE not Gentry.
#6-Rudock has TWO YEARS of starting experience at IOWA where he managed to compile a good completion rate and low turnover rate (He is safe game manager)
#7- Rudock was replaced due to internal parental politics as the starter and decided to transfer his final year.
#8- Harbaugh and Fisch pursued him immediately in January because they had NO ONE at the position to ensure success in Harbaugh's first year which is crucial for recruiting. This is why they pursued Rudock and O'Korn (Rudock's teammate in high school) after they showed their desire to transfer.

There has been talk of Gentry seeing some time at TE this year, because he's 6'7" and incredibly athletic. The reason he may see time there is because it sounds like he does not want to redshirt. Redshirting a player is up to the player. If Jim told him he's 4th string QB (or whatever he ends up being), then he may have said "then put me at TE this year, I want to play." I'm not sure why the rumor is out there, and even more unsure if it will actually come to fruition. It's not unheard of though, Ryan Tannehill did that at Texas A&M and things worked out alright for him. And even if he spends some time at TE, it won't be 100% of his time.Where are you getting the Gentry to TE from??? I don't see it anywhere. Poggi has been moved to TE and with Wheatley, WIlliams, Butt, Bunting, and Poggi I don't think we need another TE. Curious what your sources are.

To be honest, I think John O'Korn has a solid shot to start next year. With a year under Harbaugh before he even sees the field, I think he could be fantastic in this offense. We'll have plenty of competition though, that's for sure.
It's entirely possible, we'll just have to see. Practice has been essentially shut down to everyone (including former players, HS coaches, etc), so it's hard to tell what's going on. They've had to rely on a game of telephone just to confirm that Bryan Mone is hurt, let alone potentially out for the year. A few people will be allowed into a scrimmage on Saturday, so we should be able to acquire some more solid info.Disregard my post if this rumor is not true.
Well I stated many months ago that if Jake wins out Shane will move on. The 'future' sits waiting on the bench from Jim's recruiting this and next year. Shane is a tragedy. He got no QB coaching and was thrown into the fire with a bad line . If he stays he believes he has a shot if anything happens to Jake.
As for me. I am still rated 36.54 nationally , for a Transplant. I have a major artery -the middle on that bends down like an "L" that is 98% blocked. They want to do BOTH at the same time- 12-15hour job. Lungs first then by-pass. If I get a heart attack or stoke the may do a stent or angioplasty but then I go on blood thinners and that means 6 months before any chance of Transplant until all thinners are out of my system. I see Lung Doc 8/27 and take breathing tests again and blood work to see if my immune system is good. That will change my numbers if anything -up. I have spoken with 4 people with TPs and the told me they all were on DEATH's bed with 21 days left. U have to get to near 100 nationally to get their attention. Then they scramble to find lungs that fit you. Same blood type, same size in height. Then I have to make a choice.
They spoke about RISK! If the donor is a person who has smoked, taken drugs, prostitute, worked around pollutants that is called HIGH Risk .
I have 25 minutes to decide if I will take them. If I say no I'm ok. They check 6 points to see if they carry anything and if nothing is seen they say they are good to go. A year later cancer or a disease come sup that was unseen but they will treat me the same and I may get 3-4-5 years out of them.
If I get a regular CLEAN donor I have the same 25 minutes and If I say 'Yes' we go !! I could get 3-4-5 years and I could get 9-10-12 years if I get through the first year . That's BIG one!! Amen! If I say NO I'm off the list. I'm on my own getting treatment but no lungs.
U R a great friend and I wish I could meet you, as I pray I could meet all here as we speak and share as brother Wolverines. GBGB"74
