With the Mods predicting 2 or 3 losses for UM, it's easy to get a bit frustrated. We expect Michigan to compete for titles, yet we see a program...at least record-wise...sitting behind PennSt and Wiscy over the past 5 years. There are lots of reasons, but certainly one main reason is UM has not had the best...or even 2nd or 3rd best QB in the B10. That's a huge factor.
And so, here we are with Joe Milton...a world of potential and raw talent...which counts for practically nothing unless he wins football games. I can see why the "experts" discount Michigan with an unproven, first time starting QB...it makes perfect sense.
Can Joe surprise us...or will he, like most first year QBs, make the critical mistake at the wrong time and UM loses a game or two against teams we SHOULD beat...?
You can have all the raw talent in the world, but can you throw the ball to the guys in the right jerseys in crunch time...? Does Joe have the composure and competitiveness to lead when the pressure is the greatest...? The intangibles are what separates talented QBs from the QBs who win the biggest games../
None of us know the real answer...and yet the season depends on him being a difference-maker...IS he..??
