SO which would you rtaher have if those were 2 choices.
I would take Harbaugh staying and OSU floundering by Ryan Day getting hired by NFL team because there is still some hope maybe Harbaugh can turn it around and win Big as in Big Ten title and CFP trip with 12-1/13-0 season if he can regain 2016 and before version of himself? We need OSU to go down hill either way if we want to start winning 50% or more games against them and flip rivalry.
If OSU stays football factory, we can beat them with great coaching and win big, but it will be 1/3 or 1/4 of the time at most, but will still lose to them mostly as they are on a different playing field as so many allude to.
But why not kill two birds with one stone. Harbaugh takes NFL job, Michigan hires Matt Campbell and RYaqn Day takes an NFL job and Urban Meyer has health issues and cannot unretire leaving OSU with no choices as coach as they have no Matt Campbell to hire who they they BTW almost hired over Ryan Day 2 years ago.
Not for sure Campbell is answer, but he very well could be.
Either way I would be ecstatic if Ryan Day gets hired by NFL team and Urban cannot unretire because his health is bad. But if Campbell is avasilable for OSU they could keep on rolling. But if not who do they turn too? Oh Luke Fickell. But are they going to think he is great doing what he did at CIncy when he was not good at OSU his one try even though he was an intern???
Best of all worlds would be, Ryan Day gets hired by NFL, Fickell takes another Power 5 job or the Bengals job with a huge buyout and Campbell wants to stay at ISU for another year if Harbaugh is retained and OSU has no where to go for another good coach. Well they could try potential great unproven Hafley, but I would like to see him one more year at BC. And we could see one more year of data for Campbell at ISU in 2021 if Harbaugh continues to fail assuming he sticks around?
I would love it for the Bengals to offer Fickell and Fickell would not have to move and it takes him off OSU's raider. And some other NFL team to offer Ryan Day and Meyer to not be able to unretire. That could knock OSU down a lot.
