Obviously, the Fab Five has already been done. But yesterday, was the 4th anniversary of Michigan playing Illinois in the Big Ten Tourney after the plane crash. Not sure there could be a better 30 for 30.
- Michigan misses the tourney the year before
- Started well, but OOC losses, and then 3 out of 4 losses to start the B1G season, culminating with the "white collar" comment by Maverick Morgan of Illinois
- Heat was on Beilein
- Michigan needed to win at least a game to solidify their place in the tourney, playing Illinois, in the 8/9 match up
- Plane skids off runway, crashes, all during high winds, pilot basically saves everyone's life with this choice
- Team flies NEXT MORNING to tournament, in practice gear, and DESTROYS that same shit talking Illinois team
- Goes on to beat the #1, #4, and #2 to win the B1G tourney
- Can talk about tourney, but really, it ends with them winning the B1G tourney
It's still such an insane story even 4 years later
So what else you guys got? I'm thinking it's gotta have national appeal. Shouldn't be just something only Michigan fans would care about.
Woodson winning the Heisman as predominantly a defensive player is really the only one I can think of. Maybe the 69 game with OSU, but I'm not sure how much tread is left on that tire.
