What did you all think of James Franklin's halfback pass up 38-14 with 4 minutes left?

Classless is the easy answer, maybe the correct answer.

Pride before the fall maybe? As much as PSU fans were going nuts over Barkley's TD pass, they would have hung Franklin in effigy had Barkley blown out his knee with 4 minutes left up 24 points.

Unnecessary call if you ask me but maybe not a huge deal.

Unnecessary.....yup. Classless......meh....have seen a lot worse. Harbaugh tends to keep the gas on the pedal as do MANY MANY coaches.
Remember, when building a Heisman case at the end of the year the stats will show dude ran for....caught pass for....returned kick for....and passed for TD's.
They won't say it was in mop up situation.

Agreed. Just not a great look. Harbaugh beat Rutgers 78-0 last year but had virtually every offensive starter out of the game by the beginning of the third quarter.

The PSU game was somewhat in question, at least on paper through early in the fourth quarter. Not only would I have had Barkley out of the game for injury reasons, not sure I would have thrown a halfback pass up 24 with 4 minutes left.

I get the stats, the Heisman thing, etc. Just seems a it much.

I would have called that same play....and it still would have been bad sportsmanship in my opinion
