Cade doesn't get enough credit around here. He's led us to this 6-0 start and two big time wins on the road. Dude is an absolute winner and we're lucky to have him as our QB
Haskins is our best offensive player. He reminds me of Cade in that he doesn't have awe inspiring physical gifts, but Hassan is BEAST! This guy just puts the offense on his shoulders at times and never seems to get the props he deserves. Great player!
Our Defense got a bit out of sorts in that 3rd quarter - but there is a lot to like about that squad. What you don't see is teams just running it right at us or running wild all over the place. We are getting beat on misdirection, losing eye discipline, and at times showing our inexperience. But no one is running it right at us and down our throats. We've made some big strides from where we were and we've got a bit more depth than we thought.
Green still is in place but not making some plays. He should have had a pick or at least a knock down, and then got spun around on their final drive and gave up a big completion. And just as I was dogging him, he comes flying up on that screen play and crushes their running back. Fantastic play and that would have went for BIG yardage. Well done!
A couple of new things are working for us on offense - having All block and then slip underneath for a quick hitter and using Corum more in the running game via the slot. Both of those plays are easy yardage for us and we picked up a couple of first downs.
I called for more jump balls to Baldwin earlier in the week, and I thought he could provide us something there. But he seems a bit inconsistent still and doesn't high point the ball as well as he could. Either way, he's been a big help to our WR corps so far and will continue to do so I believe. He's got the size to be such a mismatch but I'd like to see him go up high ala Collins toward the back of the end zone and make some plays.
This offense just went on the road in consecutive weeks and put up 38 and 32 points against two darn good defenses. And now a bye week to heal up and hopefully get better and primed for the second half. Couldn't have asked for more thus far!
