then the UM defense is either going to be unbelievable or his contributions on ST's and on offense is going to make UM a really good team. Looking forward to seeing the #5 guy in CFB...which is basically like saying UM has a Heisman trophy candidate.

Maybe not Desmond Howard or Woodson but a high impact player. Didn't Harbaugh finish 3rd in the Heisman Trophy balloting? #5 says he is the best player in the Big Ten?

I want to see it. I am rooting for him but something tells me his high school recruiting ranking is a variable here.

Or he might not live up to the hype because it is over hype. He has nowhere the stats to have that kind of ranking.

Peppers is obviously talented and he has made some very good contributions and I expect more of the same this year...but being the #5 ranked player or top 10 in college football then you must be one hell of a defensive player + special teams.

I don't think it's Peppers fault at all...the media just likes 2 way players and in this case...a 3 way player. If you told me Peppers was going to be a top 10 Big Ten player right now...I would take it.

Is there any player on little brother that would start for Michigan? It is actually incredible to see how quickly little brother has fallen. They will once again, and permanently, remain behind UM.

Well Peppers is playing well which means UM is doing well. I will take it.

Lamar Jackson is the Heisman Trophy winner but glad to see Peppers and Speight doing well!

Anyone that is enamoured by stats and then claims Peppers is overrated does not understand football. You have a kid playing at an elite level in 11 positions - not average, elite. Majority of his roles don't have real stats associated with it. When he's on offense, people "have" to focus on him which leaves other players open. When he's on defense, you have to account for him. When he's returning punts, etc you often hurry your punts because the opposing teams have to be in full coverage mode, which leaves the kicker much more susceptible. It's similar to Lewis, stats don't show up because folks don't want to throw the ball in his direction. I would argue that what Peppers is doing is one of the most impressive things in football I have seen in a while - 11 different positions!!!
