Don't let a non-crisis go to waste seems to be the mantra. Now we're embroiled in early signing periods with a fan of the school from which we pillaged a couple of recruits this week. I know otherwise he's a disinterested observer but I wonder if all his sturm und drang over early signing periods might be connected to said pillaging?it can't move on until the NWestern poster wades in

Did he really do just fine? Michigan was his dream school and most every academic ranking has it clearly superior to Oklahoma. Is the argument that he's better off based on the idea that Harbaugh just hates him and wouldn't give him a chance to compete? I'm also puzzled over why his scholly was pulled if he had the talent to sign with Oklahoma. He did just fine, the tempest-in-a-teapot storm has passed, perhaps we could move on to more interesting issues?
Yes, he really did do just fine. He'll get a solid education, play for a top 10 program, and laugh for years to come at all the drama caused by this tempest-in-a-teapot situation. Your questions are false alternatives, Harbaugh may not of thought of him as qualified for playing for UM as OK did, that happens all the time in recruitment. His scholarship wasn't "pulled", he was told months ago he was being evaluated and nothing was assured. He will do fine, UM will do fine, the world is right as rain.Did he really do just fine? No doubt, I'm just saying there could be a correlation. I don't think it's incidental that all of our outside friends' concerned with UM recruiting coincides with the resurgence of UM.I've been an advocate for an early-signing period for years.
Wow! I never heard that Harbaugh hated the kid & never gave him a chance to compete. I knew there had to be more to it. What a demoralizing & insulting concept for a kid to have to deal with while trying to practice every day & compete every Friday night throughout his entire senior season. In that case, awesome pick-up for the Sooners & shame on Harbaugh & UM!Did he really do just fine? Michigan was his dream school and most every academic ranking has it clearly superior to Oklahoma. Hey, of all the rationalizations supporting Harbaugh's treatment of the kid, yours is the most creative. I award you the gold medal.Let this sink in, Swenson is going to play for a college football playoff team and Weaver for a Power 5 school, in all likelihood. Is this registering with you, they will be just fine (I'm slowly backing away from the conversation), just fine.
Or you and others that redundantly post on this board about the tragic victimization of these young men could start a fund or campaign for them or just reach out to them in their dire time of need. Offer to send them care packages, offer to buy them pizza every Friday night, or offer to finance and start a safe-space, sensitivity round table discussion in their honor--the creative options are limitless for showing compassion and mercy on these poor guys.
