Anyone who says he isn't the GOAT in football is crazy in my opinion. Win or lose last night I thought he already had that title. But can he make a case for greatest of all time in any sport? It's tough to compare among sports, especially between team sports and individual sports.
Brady has 5 titles, 4 Super Bowl MVP's, 2 NFL MVP awards and a bunch of other awards and records that I could spend all day looking up. But perhaps what is most impressive is his consistency and longevity. Brady won his 1st Super Bowl and Super Bowl MVP 15 years ago, and then won his 5th game and 4th MVP last night.
Jordan has more rings and NBA Finals MVP's, but his all came in an 8 year stretch. Wayne Gretzky only won two Conn Smythe trophies, and those were in the early part of his NHL career. Jeter won titles 14 seasons apart, but he only won 1 World Series MVP for the Yankees. Gordie Howe had great longevity, but like Gretzky and Jeter, never had the same type of success later in his career.
Bill Russell is up there, but by his last title in 1969, which was 12 years after his first title, he was a player coach and not the best player on his team.
The only other two that are in the discussion are Kareem, who won 6 NBA titles, and won NBA Finals MVP 14 years a part, and Babe Ruth, who won a World Series in 1915 and his last in 1932, with 5 more in between. They didn't track MVP's back then, but he clearly would've won a few, including his last one in 1932.
When you get to team sports it gets a little trickier, but Brady is clearly in the discussion, if not at the top, of GOAT among team sport athletes.
