a couple of thoughts.
1. The days of easy shots are over..welcome to conf play.
2. It must be almost impossible to have no steals. I am not sure what that means as we appeared to play good position defense .
3. Dickinson has already had to work a little harder in conference but his results were excellent. As many have asked about his offensive game from the right side... He did have more trouble getting off an accurate attempt in his limited right side play. Great pass early to Livers. Finally had a little foul trouble at the end , but he played a great and SMART defensive game. This kid has no weakness..
4. We had 16 turnovers but still protected the ball ok . More possessions and more broken play will do that. Franz and Johns just not making good, quick decisions with the ball when they need to. I would have liked us to have gotten more break, semi-break buckets but 0 steals will do that.
5. Brooks is athletic as hell and is now looking to get it to the hole instead of a last minute ill advised pass. Assist to a hella smart Dickinson when he drove ,and had nothing ,was a Dickinson play we haven't seen much here.
6. Brown was solid as hell .. just funny that those wide open 3s he got before today are now man in your face at 25 ft passes. His defensive fire has rubbed off on everyone.
7. Franz will face guys looking for the charge for the rest of his career. It is on him..He needs to do more without the ball or be the scrapper underneath we want Williams to be. Franz and Johns are nice players but we may need to restrict what they are allowed to do with the ball. Hate to go there, but 40 percent of their decisions with the ball in their hands in a semi-iso setting are not good...After saying that... We need more from Franz !
8. Coming down the stretch last year we had 2 bad free throw shooters involved in most of the offense. That has changed as making free throws is a huge reason we won today.( even with the 2 bricks late)..
