Here's the scenario: Just turned 30. Been practicing criminal defense work in Kalamazoo for over 4 years (along with expungement and license restoration work). Both retained and court-appointed trial work. Great experience obviously for someone my age. Kalamazoo has been ok. Own a home. Single guy. However, I just don't feel satisfied. Thinking about selling my home and moving on to something else. Not necessarily giving up as an Attorney completely, but finding something else I could thrive in. I tried to get into the sports world (even met with a couple Fort members in LA and Chicago) but that didn't work out. I recently applied to Steelcase in Grand Rapids as a Contract Negotiation Specialist (would allow me to travel some), and that didn't work out. Looking into Compliance work, but nothing yet. Am I being selfish? I have been pondering this for a while, and I am not sure if I need to shut up and be thankful for the work I have, or give it up to find something else. It's hard when you only have experience in one particular area, even though I am 100% confident in my skill set for any job I would take. Just not sure where to even start.
Just wanted to know the thoughts of our FORT members. Sorry for the OT during football season, but FORT members have always been good to other members when it comes to this sort of thing.
