First Mayfield. He is all of 6'6" but his weight is 255-260. Played both ways, right tackle and defensive end. He is a project. Great athlete, fantastic intangibles. Had a really hard time with combo blocks. Like most high schoolers, plays very high. When he gets low and gets leverage, he planted people. Doesn't maintain his blocks like he should. Team leader, high energy. If he can add the weight, he will compete his third year. Would not surprise if he he plays DE. Kollin Demens is small. Skinny upper torso. Gets off blocks, him and Mayfield went against each other. Horrible body language, like I don't want to be here. Other 5 size and talent.
Onto Logan Brown and Mazi Smith. Brown, college ready body, 6'7,285-290. He is big. Great athlete, stays balanced, uses his hands really well. Played left tackle and DT. The compitition wasnt great. When he gets to the second level, he doesn't miss. In the end, this may be a battle with Alabama. Onto Mazi Smith.Owenu type build. 6'3" 320-330. Has some moves at DT. Also played guard. However, he is out of shape. 5 minutes in after he already had a break, he was asking to come off. Although his knee was wrapped, it looked like tired not hurt. I'm thinking MSU. They really didn't hang together after the game. Bonus, East Kentwood starts 2 sophomores on the o-line with Brown and Smith. Bryce Mostella 6'6" 245, very athletic and Dallas Fincher 6'3" 250. Models may develops. Out of all these players Brown is the real deal. A little coaching and he is pro prospect.
