I normally don’t believe in the theory that coaches hold things back because it seems like a potentially huge gamble. Having said that...there were things Michigan did today we haven’t seen to this extent. They used Ben Mason a lot today.
Also...they’ve been setting teams up with the man in motion handoff/push pass, and they faked that a couple of times today. Not to huge success, but effective.
As I said, I generally don’t believe in the theory of holding stuff back, but I couldn’t help but think today, that maybe JH had been doing exactly that.
