From the outside, Harbaugh appears to be a disappointment. He came in with all the hype and has yet to finish better than 3rd in his division. Let's just say for the sake of argument that Shea Patterson is good but not great this year and Michigan once again finishes 3rd or worse in the division, how hot of a seat is Harbaugh on with the fanbase?

Hope y'all are having a great day.

Troll click bait.

Zero hot seat.

Go back and watch Michigan's games from 2014. Then look at the QB room he inherited. Aside from a fluky last play loss to to msu, one stinker loss to Iowa when Michigan had ascended to # 3 in the Country, and a highway robbery in columbus in 2016, he's done more with this roster than could be reasonably expected given the poor talent and depth he inherited at QB and OL. This year will be another dominant defense. As soon as the QB play is even average, the rest will fall into place. This year.

Interesting. Have his gimmicks and personality grown old to the fanbase yet?

Props for using the word "gimmicks".....usually the lazy narrative refers to his "antics"

That said, I'll take the bait. What gimmicks are you referencing? Please be specific?

Ok, I'll take you at face value as well & respond.
First off, I believe most fans of ANY school don't pay much attention to "antics". They care about 1) Winning & 1a) Ethics/Integrity. Sure, you've got a group that says if you ain't cheatin' you ain't tryin'.....but I believe that gun to your head during a lie detector test they don't really believe that.

So to answer your question, Hype wasn't established by the majority of the fan base. It was established by the Media & high on their horse fans. Again, those being a small number of fans, so to me the Hype has absolutely no bearing on my opinion.
Has there been disappointment in the results? In the grand scheme of things sure. 2017 was indeed a disaster, But if you dissect both the 2015 & 2016 seasons M was so close to a piece of the B1G titles. Still not good enough, but not like there are miles of ground that needs to be made up. Of course until M actually does it the detractors have their say without much rebuttal that can be offered.

From my standpoint though, I still have confidence in Harbaugh. I believe he still has a top notch football mind, can get better than average players and has the passion necessary to make his team successful. I want to see what happens over the next 3 years before I'm interested in writing the book on a potential "hot seat" because at this point in time he's not on one.

All the like invading the south to get players, the rap battles, sleeping over at recruits house (which, honestly, I find rather creepy.), the satellite camp in Australia, giving a helmet to the Pope, "modeling his life after Spongebob", signing with the stars.

Also, I didn't follow it too closely, but apparently his personality was one of the reasons he got run from San Fran. Was just curious if y'all have experienced that as well.

I'm really honestly not trying to be a troll or any other term. I grew up in the south and live in the Mid Atlantic so I basically never interact with or run into Michigan fans. So my thoughts on Michigan are completely outside looking in.

  • The south has many more good football players, why wouldn't he recruit the south?
  • Rap battles? Absolutely no idea what you're talking about.
  • Sleep over. Such a non-starter. People act like he crawled into bed with Nordin...and guess what? It worked, he flipped from Penn St.
  • Satellite camp in Australia. Why does that bother you? Combing all areas of the world and putting in enormous amounts of work, teaching the game of football and possibly unearthing someone that can play at the D1 level? Where's the harm. Again, a total non-starter.
  • Met the Pope and gave him a helmet. He's a devout Catholic. Nail him to the cross for this if you must, but I don't see the issue.
  • Signing with the stars. Attempting to create a buzz around a program that was all but left for dead after what RR and Hoke did to it.
  • As for San Fran, ask any Niners fan what think of Harbaugh. Then ask them what they think of Jed York.
Why does any of this bother anyone? Is all of it unconventional? Yes. Is any of it against the rules? Absolutely not. He's innovative and will not hesitate to do things that others find "weird" or wastes of time if he thinks it will help his team get better and win football games.

None of the incessant media coverage of his every move is begged for or solicited. That's all on the media.

Just curious, what team to you follow?

Gimmicks are what Ole Miss did: Cheating, firing your coach, and giving up your best players (thank you very much).

Damn it Pharm. You're falling for exactly what Charger wanted to hear! Turn the thread into a circus & not talk about the facts. What EMK posted is all that needs to be said for the most part. You want to bash on Charger open a new thread & have at it.

Cool. But I’m going to continue to post where I want. But thanks for your suggestion!

These "antics" bother non-Michigan fans a lot more than Michigan fans.

Losses annoy, but most understand the OL and QB issues are primary culprits.

Harbaugh is classier in defeat than many coaches are in victory. He's quirky, but not douchey nor a complete jag-off like some other coaches in the B1G.

The D has been title-worthy, O has been lagging, but that should change this season.

I look at the schedule and see a 10-win season, provided Patterson is at least average.

Go Blue. Always.
