Walton and Irwin are turnover machines

Walton is terrible...he is so inconsistent and I hope Simpson is a major improvement. Walton hit his ceiling last year and will not get any better.

Walton is the least of the problems. Guy is tough as nails. Can you imagine this team without his rebounding. Struggling shooting the ball right now but this program needs a modification from JB himself and better inside guys.

Irvin should be moved to the #3 half the time when UM is playing bigger teams. This isn't a Walton or guard problem...it's a JB/big man problem. JB has two years or so to get something out of Wagner/Chatman/Teske/Davis which will determine the direction of this program because right now it only has it's head above water and it's starting to sink.

Let's not kid ourselves...UM barely made the tourney and looks like some version of a good mid major program/middle of the road Big Ten program.

Sorry dude I disagree - the job of a guard is to control the game and take over when needed, not get rebounds! He is incredibly inconsistent as is Irvin. While I like both of them the problem with both is that neither is ok being "the guy". They don't have that mentality of - no worries, I am taking over the game, give me the ball. I think MAAR is the closest to that we have on this team. Caris was absolutely that guy. Stauskas was that, Burke was that. GR3 was not! As a Jr. PG you should be expected to take over games and develop consistency and neither him nor Irvin have that.

Both are returning next year and the thing with Irvin is that his position can allow him to fade once in a while but Walton as a PG can't really do that. If MAAR continues to improve at the rate he did this year and Wagner can put on another 15lbs of muscle - as well as Donnal - we should be significantly better then this year for sure.

Say what you want - Walton and Irvin have hit their ceilings.
