Any linguistics majors or enthusiasts recommend a good book(s) on the topic for a budding enthusiast? I'm not looking for an etymological dictionary, but something that's an interesting read. Btw...at the risk of chapping anyone's a$$...I was looking at rankings of university linguistics programs and Sparty ranks very highly in every article I read. Michigan was nothing to scoff at but I was shocked to see how highly thought of MSU's program is. Would've never guessed.
