Four years ago my 90 yr. old father-in-law (deceased this past December) was honored as the vet of the game. I never saw him smile as broadly as that day. Later at Metzger's for dinner John (the owner) bought his dinner, other people at the restaurant offered to buy him a drink and when we returned to the hotel he was stopped and greeted with "weren't you the vet of the game today?" Another huge grin. The Vet's tailgate was memorable in so many respects from the drum major and the band stopping to get a picture to all the other vets and servicemen who stopped by to greet him. As Joe said while shaking his head... "Imagine... over a hundred thousand people cheering for me!"
