This is just me, but I tend not to follow the ball a lot. I am interested in trying to figure out the two team's game plans and their execution of them.
At this moment in time, I anticipate watching three areas. (1). The guard play and strategy for both teams. How will Brooks and Smith, on offense and defense, contend with Nebraska's guards which are 6'9", 6'9", 6'6", 6'6"? Could this limit Smith's minutes which may hurt UM's offense?
(2). Every game, thus far, Nebraska double and sometimes triple teams a low post player. This will be the first time Dickinson has faced this at the college level. Can he handle the pressure and be a legitimate scoring option? Can he keep his cool and find the open shooters with his passing skills? Will the UM shooters knock down the "open" shots consistently? (3) Some of you may roll your eyes at this at this one. Will Javon Fawlds see any minutes as a back up for Dickinson? He is a Senior. A transfer from Columbia who played there as a Freshman. He and Austin Davis are basically clones. Both are 6'10", Davis 250, Fawlds is 240. Both are Michigan HS players, Davis at Onstead, Fawlds at Holt. Actually, I first saw this idea from a national BB analyst. If you go to www.Mgoblue.com and check on the BB roster, they have stats of Fawlds' freshman year at Columbia.
Enjoy the weeks festivities and be safe.
