I thought this was an interesting comparison.

Total wins: MSU 264, Michigan 251

(In 2015 and 2016, MSU won 17 more games; that's essentially the difference).

Total tourney wins: UM 18, MSU 17

Top 25 recruits (using RSCI rankings): MSU 5, UM 1

Top 26-100 recruits (same rankings): MSU 16, Michigan 15.

(Notable: Burke, Hardaway and Duncan Robinson were not top 100 recruits; neither was Bryn Forbes).

First round NBA draft picks: UM 8, MSU 5

Total NBA draft picks: UM 11, MSU 8

Total NBA players: UM 13, MSU 12 (this is a little skewed as it counts Costello, Dawson and Appling as NBA players, I'm not really sure it should).

My subjective list of the 20 best/most impactful college players from both teams during that time (does not count NBA success, as Draymond would then be a clear #1):

1. Burke
2. Winston
3. (tie) Stauskas, Valentine
5. Draymond
6. X. Simpson
7. Wagner
8. Hardaway
9. Gary Harris
10. Derrick Walton
11. Bridges
12. Matthews
13. McGary (it was only one season, but what a tourney he had)
14. Payne
15. Appling
16. Levert (would have very likely moved way up on this list if he could have stayed healthy)
17. Tillman
18. Jordan Morgan
19. Bryn Forbes
20. Costello/Teske

Honorable Mention: Poole, Iggy, Jaren Jackson, McQuaid, MAAR, Zak Irvin

DJ Wilson had some moments of brilliance and would no doubt make this list had he stayed one more year, and the same is likely true for Deyonta Davis too.
