Who wouldn't want to play in a partially-filled stadium vs a top 25 team? What is it about West Coast teams and their paltry attendance at games?
Yup, it's just weird. Must be the cheerleaders that the recruits like.I get it's the West Coast and he sun shines there, but every time I turn on a USC or UCLA game it seems there's a bunch of empty seats
I've been to a number of SC games (son is SC grad and lives in LA) and the only game they possibly filled at the Coliseum was the 2012 SC/ND game won by ND 22-13, the attendance was 93,607 which is now listed as capacity.I get it's the West Coast and he sun shines there, but every time I turn on a USC or UCLA game it seems there's a bunch of empty seats
Both SC and UCLA have attendance problems. More so when the teams aren't very good.I've been to a number of SC games (son is SC grad and lives in LA) and the only game they possibly filled at the Coliseum was the 2012 SC/ND game won by ND 22-13, the attendance was 93,607 which is now listed as capacity.
Agree...the place is something else when filled (Coliseum). I understand the dilemma that they both have though it's hard to believe w/ LA's huge population they would have problems selling out. Both SC and UCLA have attendance problems. More so when the teams aren't very good.
UCLA's attendance isn't helped by the fact that the Rose Bowl is nowhere near campus, but rather a moderate drive through some of the heaviest traffic in the country.
During the hey day of the Carroll years the Coli was rocking most games, but even then it wouldn't get "capacity" crowds unless the opponent was noteworthy (think tOSU in 2008). If SC is not playing very well it might be that the only game that is well attended is the ND game.
And huge alumni following to boot. Makes no sense IMHOAgree...the place is something else when filled (Coliseum). I understand the dilemma that they both have though it's hard to believe w/ LA's huge population they would have problems selling out.
