So I have spoken to Turgeon a few times. Truthfully not a bad guy. We joked about Izzo and what a piece of crap the crowd is at Breslin and how Tommy gets his way with the refs. Now I know from a few friends out here that there are a couple of things that have really gotten under his skin this year. He has caught a TON of crap for not recruiting Garza and Hunter. Garza WANTED to go to Maryland and Turgeon didn’t want him. He knew he had Jalen Smith ( Stix ) and Fernando as his bigs. Smith went to Morsells school Mt St Joe’s in Baltimore and Turgeon was happy with that. Then he didn’t go after Hunter , Stix goes to the NBA and Maryland doesn’t have a guy in the paint and Hunter and Garza tear up the league. He has caught a tremendous amount of flack from fans and the media. Then Hunter talks about it in the media AND kills the Terps in game one and gets into a verbal match with the Maryland players all game long . I gotta believe that all has Turgeon pissed beyond belief.
Morsell is a kid my son played against his whole HS career. I always have thought he was tough but borderline dirty. Even today he was always running his mouth and his coaches had to pull him back when Howard was yelling. The kid is always the one to me like a Davison who you have to watch. Just my 2 cents , but have seen him play a ton of ball. Tough kid , but has a mouth on the court my son says always.
Finally for Turgeon to say all I said was “ don’t talk to me “ sounds like crap. Juwan isn’t going to go nuts from hearing that. Would not surprise me if Morsell said something to Juwan either but we will never know , but it’s going to be interesting to see what Juwan says about Mark calling the league. Stay tuned.
