I feel strongly that’s what this game comes down to for UM. Almost let it bite us last week. We know UM can move the ball against Sparty; however, UM can’t leave points on the field and expect to get them back like it did last week.
For one, UM has among the lowest red zone scoring rates in the country while MSU‘s O has one of the highest. (As an aside, that’s true on defense too with UM having one of the worst rates of points against in the red zone while MSU’s D has one of the best). Further, UM has a relatively low possessions per game; it will get pretty uncomfortable for this offense to speed things up if we get behind because they’re scoring 6s while we’re scoring 3s.
