today was a tough day for all of us. You could see we had flaws after the ND game, but 10 straight wins and a top 4 ranking can convince any fan that their team can/should win any game...especially this game given how OSU had been playing.
We failed today period. But the not so underlying issues are there and they have been prevalent in football and men’s basketball, despite recent successes and records.
I think Jim is the right man for the job. I don’t think there is any other coach in the country that could get us to the brink two out of the last three years. However, it still isn’t good enough.
I am to the point to think that all Michigan athletics just aren’t good enough. We are a great institution and do things the right way, but we just simply are not good enough or do not have the ‘it’ to get over the hump in big games, championship games. This includes basketball as well. I honestly don’t think anyone can put their finger on what this is.
I love Michigan. I spend so much time on rivals and mgoblog that I may actually be a smart person if these sites didn’t exist. I will continue to love Michigan. I will continue to go to games. I will continue to convince myself that we can beat OSU year in and year out. However, again, I think I will continue to come away disappointed and in disbelief for different reasons each year, swallowing an L more often than not.
