This is second hand because I don't listen to Zach Smith's podcast but I just read someone say that he said one of the reasons Tony Alford likely left is a lack of chemistry or communication or identity of sorts with their offense.
That's only going to be made worse by Coach Kelly coming in. I see this is totally true because sometimes you can have too many chefs in the kitchen! What is their offensive identity? As long as Ryan Day is there, it's always going to be trying to pass and soft.
They're probably trying to compensate with a run game and physicality but at the same time. Chip Kelly isn't necessarily known for that. This is a team caught up somewhere between air raid pro style, RPO spread option and power run. In their case, I honestly think that it will not be helpful to them and their identity.
No. Marvin Harrison Jr... Ultimately they're going to go back to whatever Ryan Day wants to do which means they probably won't utilize their running backs properly, won't be as effective as being physical. Won't be explosive this isn't 2010. Chip Kelly. I think they'll just be another run of the mill. Kind of spready spread offense sort of like what they were last year
but with a quarterback who's not as good of a passer. They'll have better leadership and a better run game if they use the quarterback in the run game a lot. But I still think you're looking at a team who's offense can be held in check a few times in the regular season. I wouldn't be surprised if we held them to 20 points or less in Columbus.
