Announced this afternoon that Alex Faedo (#1 draft pick in recent draft) signed and then left the impression that he wouldn't start his pro career until next year. He threw something over 120 innings for Florida this year and helped them win the College World Series--he was the Series MVP. I can certainly understand that they don't want to over-pitch the kid, but seriously, a few outings in rookie league would hurt?. I suppose it's all about free agency, which the clock doesn't start ticking on until his pro career begins.
