Piggybacking on yesterday's thread of the best decade, I figured I'd make it more Michigan specific - which decade was the best decade for Michigan football - the 70's, 80's or 90's (sadly, i'm not even considering the 00's or later).
The 90's had 5 Big Ten titles, 2 Rose Bowl wins, an Orange Bowl win, and a total of 7 bowl wins. Plus that whole 1997 season. But 1993 - 1996 were pretty "ehh".
The 80's had 5 Big Ten Titles, 2 Rose Bowl wins, and a couple of other great season (85 and 86). But it also had the 1984 season.
The 70's had the Ten Year War, 7 Big Ten Titles, 4 Rose Bowls, and Orange Bowl, and only one season with more than two losses. But we didn't win any of those bowl games.
I think it's a tough call, but I'll go with the 80's since the only real let down year was 1984, and we finally go the Rose Bowl monkey off of Bo's back. I can't pick the 90's given the 4 straight years of 4 loss teams.
Who ya got?
