- We haven't been very strong the last two games. Perhaps we're a bit tired. Perhaps we're victims of our early season success. But we're not playing as well as we were a couple of weeks ago. We need to tighten it up.
- It was clear that South Carolina was fired up for this game. I thought they brought more energy than we did today. They made some tough shots and really kept constant pressure on our D with good movement and cuts.
- It's pretty evident that Sanderson has worked wonders with Teske's conditioning. On one alley oop jam, I think his head actually may have grazed the backboard. He's actually can elevate a bit and moves his feet well. I know he got called for the offensive foul but I loved his aggressiveness taking the feed from Poole on the run down the lane and trying to jam the ball over everyone.
- On D, we got beat off the dribble way too much. Maybe we were a bit tired. Maybe we were defending the 3 too aggressively (including leaving our feet on pump fakes on the perimeter). But almost everyone on defense got beat on drives once or more.
- Simpson did some good things and some bad things. His D was not as strong as it has been. He got sloppy with the ball including making some ill advised/risky passes. But he still created offense for us by getting the ball into the paint. The free throws still look way too stiff.
- I think we're trying to make a few too many highlight plays including alley oops. We've got to be a little more selective on these plays - especially when we are playing teams with good length and athleticism.
- It was nice to see Livers knock down some shots including a really tough step back 3 that beat the shot clock. I think he (like others) did have some problems on D.
- I wonder why Brooks got so few minutes?
- Iggy looked a bit gassed today. He got kind of abused on D and his 3 point shot wasn't pure. But he was money at the free throw line.
- I'm glad to have Matthews but I'm not certain his game will translate to the NBA. I just don't think he has enough offensive skills for his length (shooting, passing, ball handling).
- I didn't think we got a great whistle today. It seemed to me like there was a deserved foul disparity and then the refs tried to even it up. They let South Carolina get away with much more physical plan than us.
- 10-0 this year, 24-1 over our last 25. Is this the best run in Michigan basketball history?
