In 2015 sparty went 12-1, won the b10 championship and made the playoff. They had Connor cook and a lot nice pieces around him (good OL) and the customary stifling defense of narduzzi.
However, during this run they needed harbaugh's first team (the one coming off 5-7 and starting a graduate transfer at QB and an also questionable offense) to mishandle a punt snap with 10 seconds remaining to get past Michigan in Ann Arbor.
This year's version of sparty is not as good as their 2015 version - probably not at one single position. This year's sparty is not nearly as bad as last year's either, as some had hoped/projected.
But this year's Michigan is at least as good as the 2015 on defense, and it was the defense that carried the offense along in 2015 until it rounded into form. Last year's team put a beat down on sparty (I don't care about the final score and remember it was 30-17 with :01 on the clock, not to mention 30-10 with under 8 minutes).
Barring a complete meltdown from our offense, I am just struggling to envision a scenario in which Harbaugh loses at home for only the second time (with one being the aforementioned Fluke).
If Iowa can figure out and shut down sparty's offense after 1 quarter of play, I like our defense under the lights. I like our ability to make them pay for their defensive aggression with our tight ends.
Don't fall for a fullback wheel route and we should win going away.
