- Maybe it was the section I was in (36) but the crowd was great yesterday. I don't think there was a single snap when we were on D when the crowd wasn't making noise. We also were standing on every single play. Very fun.
- I really like Shea Patterson. He's a tough, crafty QB with a really good feel for the game. With that being said, I don't really understand why he would be in such a rush to go the NFL. I see him as a mid to late round draft pick. He's somewhat undersized and by NFL standards, probably has less than average arm strength. He had at least two deep balls that were underthrown (the one where Collins made an nice adjustment and caught it and the one to DPJ in the end zone that got broken up). If he gets the ball to the receivers faster/deeper in both cases, they are TD's. On the throw to Collins, it looked like he threw it as far as he could. It will be interesting to see what he does after the season.
- I thought Higdon ran the ball really well yesterday. He made some really nice cuts and doesn't require that much space to find yardage. His top end speed doesn't look to be quite what it was earlier in the season - probably because of how many carries he has had. But he looked much better than Sanders.
- I really wish Harbaugh wasn't running Patterson (and then McCaffrey) so much late in the game when it was in hand. Obviously, we paid a big price with McCaffrey. I understand that we didn't want to take our foot off the gas . . . but we should be a little smarter.
- Similarly, on D, I'd like to see Harbaugh/Brown take some of our starters off the field when the game is in hand. Bush never seems to come off the field. Dwumfour playing late. Our safeties play until the end. But in particular - need to keep him healthy.
- It was probably a big mistake that Franklin put McSorley back in after the pick 6. He was already hurting and after Paye tackled him, he could barely make it off the field under his own power. It will be interesting to see if he plays next week.
- You could see from the beginning of the game that McSorley wasn't moving too well. He could never outrun any of our non-280 plus defenders. Brown had to see that which had to help him out with how we were playing D. As soon as Stevens came in, you could see how much faster he was and it appeared to catch our D by surprise at first.
- DPJ is getting better and better on punt returns. Nice to have weapons on both punt and kick returns.
- Why do we run Chris Evans inside so much? It just doesn't seem to be his strength. Personally, I'd like to see more Tru Wilson . . . or maybe a little more of the freshman Turner.
- What a beautiful pass to Black that got called back . . . we've got quite a nice group of receivers.
- Bush's speed is something else to watch. It wouldn't shock me to see him run a sub 4.5 at the combine.
