1. Iggy is the key guy. We had a good class with Johns, DeJulius and Currie. We have a great class with Iggy added to that group. We'll likely add another recruit, and there is probably a pecking order, but the truth is that the identity of the next recruit (or even the lack of identity if we get no one else) is far less important than this addition. Put another way, the difference between whichever players you think are the best and worst of what's remaining (other than Barrett, who is extremely unlikely to come) is less than the difference between Iggy and any of those players, especially in the Michigan system. Gun to my head (again, not counting Barrett), I'd pick Locke because I like having a lot of options at guard, and because he is absolutely elite at his skill. That said, with Iggy, I'm relatively indifferent.

2. Iggy is a pure scorer, a guy who despite average run/jump athleticism, is extremely adept at getting into the lane and finishing with either hand. He was ridiculously productive and efficient inside the arc in the NIKE eybl, the best (by far) of the AAU leagues. He can shoot from the perimeter, though his shot selection needs some work. He can rebound. He can pass. His ranking suffers from the fact that he plays high school in Canada (rivals doesn't rank those kids) and the fact that he isn't an eye popping athlete, but he's going to be a star.

3. While there has been some reasonable criticism of past decisions John Beilein has made on the recruiting trail, he has handled this recruiting season masterfully. In both the Johns and Iggy recruitments, he made it clear to them that they were priorities, but also assembled high level alternatives and made it clear that they could wait themselves out of spots.

4. I know people are giddy with the idea that we could add two more very good players (say Locke and Castleton). Maybe, but I don't see it unless they already have an arrangement with Currie that he will classify back to '19 or prep. One over, he's done that, and with almost guaranteed attrition or early entry by someone this year, I think it's the right move. Two over before the season even starts, potentially requiring a "Spring Creaning"--that 's not conducive to team chemistry, and it isn't John Beilein. If we add two, I think it's a clear sign that Currie will only be on the '18-'19 roster if there's enough voluntary attrition to create a spot.

5. After years of playing extremely small at forward out of necessity, having Livers, Johns and Iggy in the freshman and sophomore classes will be an embarrassment of riches.
