Thoughts on hoops team/last night's game . . .

1. Any B10 win is a good win. There are no "bad" teams in the B10 and I think the longer the season goes, the more parity you see overall because of scouting.
2. It seemed like we had more turnovers than we actually had - maybe because we're so focused on them. Two or 3 were a result of Goldin not quite being all there. He was hurting us on the floor.
3. Looks like May made a concerted effort help Donaldson out on ball handling responsibilities. If I recall, Burnett handled the ball a bit more as did Jones. Perhaps that helped Donaldson have the legs to have the big finish.
4. I hear a lot of complaints about Michigan not being deep enough. I don't see that at all. Most college teams do not go all that deep. We had 10 guys last night that played meaningful minutes. Even the 6 minutes we got out of Pippen and Cason are 6 minutes that Burnett and Donaldson were able to rest. Tschetter (+12!) really stepped up last night with very strong minutes. In his 11 minutes, Walters stayed in front of his man on defense, was 2/3 shooting, and didn't turn the ball over. Donaldson played the most of all our guys (34 minutes). Nothing wrong with that.
5. As I've heard some others say, Wolf's play seems to have declined since people started talking about him as a big NBA prospect. Frankly, I don't see it. He's got nice ball handling skills for his height and makes great passes at times, but he's not a strong finisher (for his height), a terrible FT shooter, and as we all know, a turnover machine. He really needs to play within himself. As for the FT shooting, he really has to reconstruct the shot - he's got way too much body movement and too high of an arc.
6. Unfortunately, it appears Gayle is more the 25% 3 point shooter that we saw last year than the 43% shooter we saw 2 years ago. I'm not sure why because his form looks good.
7. I didn't love Pippen at first but the more I see of him, the more I think he is going to be an excellent 2 guard (and a great distance shooter!).
8. Cason is on such a short leash right now. It's too bad because he's oozing with talent and plays hard. I'm very worried he's going to look elsewhere to play after this year.
9. Penn State was helped last night from over performing from 3 point land. Dilione, Dunn, and Baldwin went 8/15 - whereas those guys are not much better than 30% shooters.
10. We were helped out from some sloppy play from PSU - including some unforced errors.
