of the game that this UCLA squad didn't have any tourney experience until this year's run. Despite our recent success with JB, our players were somewhat in the same boat. Last year COVID derailed any action. Johns, Davis, Eli's minutes were all miniscule as they were bench players. HD and Zeb J are freshmen, Smith (Columbia) and Brown (Wake Forest) weren't tourney worthy. Even with the staff, this was their first rodeo though Marcello and Jay Smith has had HC gigs while Eisley and Washington as Assistant coaches. Pretty remarkable run though maybe we weren't ready for the moment. Coach-speak doesn't allow for downgrading an opponent but the guys maybe were licking their chops vs the Zags. Guess we'll never know, kids played hard but struggles with all aspects of the game. Of course, UCLA coaches/players factored in that too. Sleepless evening for everyone, including fans....just a fun year with this team and coaches. Thank you and GO BLUE!
